HavingwokenupinHongKong,withnomemoryforthelasttwoyears(!),SydneyreturnstoLosAngelestotrytopiecetogetherthelasttwoyearsofherlifeanddiscoversthefatesofherfriendsandfamily:VaughnhasmarriedthinkingthatSydneywaslongdead;MarshallishavingababywithCIAtechexpertCarrieBowman;andDixonisnowthenewdivisionheadoftheL.A.officebranchoftheCIA.SydneyalsolearnstheshockingfatesofJackandSloane;theformerisinCIAcustodyforcommunicatingwithIrinawhomstillisinhiding,whilethelatterislivinginSwitzerlandunderhousearrestinexchangeforco-operationwiththeCIA.SydneyisgrantedtemporaryCIAclearanceonacasethatmayhelpherregainhermemoryandshemeetsanewenemygroupcalledTheCovenant.
